Ongoing admin & back office · London

You run the business.
I run the paperwork.

Ongoing administration and back-office support for UK limited companies that already have an accountant — but nobody taking ownership of everything around them. I keep the documents, deadlines and day-to-day admin moving.

Let's talk it through

No preparation. No obligation. Just a straightforward conversation about what's currently landing on your desk.

01 Is this you?

You've already decided the admin has to go. The question is who takes it.

  1. i

“My accountant files the returns. Nobody does everything around them.”

  2. ii

“There isn't enough work for a full-time office manager — but there's too much for me.”

  3. iii

“I tried a VA. I had to explain what a Confirmation Statement was.”

03 How it works

Handover takes very little of your time. After that, it runs in the background.

  1. Step 01 · First conversation

A short call, then a clear written scope

There is nothing to prepare: we spend around 20 minutes talking through what sits with you and what your accountant already handles. Afterwards, I send you a clear written scope of what I would take ownership of — and what stays where it is.

  2. Step 02 · Handover

I take the admin off you

Once we agree the scope, I organise the handover around the systems you already use — access, document order and a clear deadline calendar. You do not need to build a perfect system before we start.

  3. Step 03 · Ongoing

It runs, and you know where everything stands

I keep track of deadlines, outstanding documents and the recurring work we have agreed, and you receive a clear update on what is done, what is in progress and what genuinely needs your decision. You stay involved only where your input is needed.

04 How I compare

The four options on your desk right now

Option A

A full-time office manager

£30,000+ a year plus NI, pension, holiday cover and recruitment time.

For a larger business a dedicated internal role can make sense — for a smaller company it often means taking on the cost and responsibility of a full-time employee before the workload requires one.

Option B

A general VA

Cheaper per hour, but you supply the UK compliance knowledge — and the supervision.

A general VA can suit diary management and inbox support — but Companies House, VAT and PAYE work needs someone who already understands what the documents are for.

Option C

Keeping it yourself

Free until it isn't — a missed filing date, a late invoice, another weekend gone.

Doing it yourself avoids another monthly cost — but every document you have to find, deadline you have to remember and invoice you have to chase is time taken from the work only you can do.

Aventress

One named person who owns the administration, so you stop having to remember it

There is no recruitment process, no employee to train and no list of individual admin hours for you to keep allocating. The goal is simple: the administration becomes something I own, rather than something you keep remembering to delegate.

  • I already know CS01 from CT600 — no need to teach me UK company administration from scratch.
  • An ongoing monthly arrangement, not hours you have to keep buying.
  • I read the HMRC letter and explain what it means — in English or Polish.

I'm [FIRST NAME LAST NAME]

I have more than 10 years' experience working with the administration behind UK companies, including VAT and PAYE administration, CT600 supporting information, Companies House work and the day-to-day processes that keep a business organised.

I work best with business owners whose companies have reached the point where the administration can no longer simply be fitted around everything else — but where employing a full-time office manager still does not make sense.

I created Aventress because I kept seeing the same gap: accountants handle the accounts, business owners run the company, but nobody takes proper ownership of everything in between. That is the part I take care of.

06 Before we talk

The questions that come up on every first call

Are you an accountant?

No. I provide administration and back-office support, not accountancy or tax advice.

I prepare and organise information, keep administrative processes moving and liaise with your accountant. Your accountant remains responsible for tax returns, statutory accounts, tax advice and professional sign-off.

Is there a contract or a minimum term?

My support is designed for ongoing work rather than one-off tasks. Our agreement sets out exactly what is included and the notice period, so both sides know where they stand from the beginning.

Notice period: [CONFIRM]. Minimum term, if any: [CONFIRM].

How do you handle our documents and data?

Business information is treated as confidential and access is limited to what is needed to provide your agreed support.

Documents are handled using [CONFIRMED SYSTEM/STORAGE METHOD], with [CONFIRMED ACCESS/SECURITY MEASURES]. When our work together ends, information is retained, returned or deleted in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable data-protection requirements. ICO registration: [ADD IF APPLICABLE].

Can you work with the accountant we already have?

Yes. That is exactly how I work. You keep the accountant you already trust. I organise and prepare the administrative information they need, deal with routine communication where appropriate and keep track of anything outstanding.

Your accountant continues doing the accounting. I keep everything around it moving.

07 Let's talk

Tell me what's on your plate.

No preparation needed — tell me what keeps landing on your desk and what your accountant keeps asking for. We'll have a straightforward conversation about what I could take over, and if it isn't the right fit, I'll tell you.
